The adherence to vocal hygiene is something of an absolute must fro the success of the therapy. The patients should take personal responsibility for alleviating the vocal symptoms and improving the voice. He should not shy from trying new voice techniques and behaviors. However, apart from active participation of the patient, the nature of the voice disorder is also responsible from the success of the program.


It is also incumbent on the voice therapists not to establish goals that are not unrealistic. They should keep themselves abreast of the latest theories and techniques related to the area. Flexibility is key to the success of voice therapy program. The voice therapist should go for different approaches so that the best results can be achieved.
